I remember reading this Slate article last year that talked about the reasons why Japanese rock is so absent from the American music scene. The article's author believed that this was because Japanese bands tend to be, "...bracingly experimental and jubilantly retro..." I hope that's not why I'm only starting to hear about a pair of American garage rock worshippers who call themselves Love Psychedelico. Kumi and Naoki have this thing down, perhaps even more so than the average heartland upstart.
